Today, 5th of May, we celebrate the Day of the Portuguese Language. Portuguese unites 9 countries: Angola, Brazil, Cape Verde, Guinea-Bissau, Equatorial Guinea, Mozambique, Portugal, São Tomé and Príncipe and Timor-Leste, in addition to Macau, China and the diasporas spread across Europe and the North America. There are more than 260 million people speaking the language of Camões (the National poet) and by 2100, it is estimated that there will be more than 500 million Portuguese speaking people.
